About Western Sydney University
The University of Western Sydney (UWS) began operation on 1st January 1989, under the terms of the University of Western Sydney Act, 1988 which had been passed by the New South Wales Parliament in December 1988. However, the predecessors of the University date back as far as 1891 with the establishment of the Hawkesbury Agricultural College. The Act created a federated network university, based on two existing Colleges of Advanced Education – Hawkesbury Agricultural College and Nepean College of Advanced Education. Aim and Benefits of Western Sydney International Scholarships
- $6,000 per year contribution towards tuition fees (up to 240 credit points or three years maximum) will be awarded dependent on your level of academic achievement in previous studies. This is available to all CRICOS registered undergraduate degrees excluding Bachelor of Clinical Science (Medicine)/Doctor of Medicine and Bachelor of Nursing.

- $3,000 per year contribution towards tuition fees (up to 240 credit points or three years maximum) is available to all CRICOS registered undergraduate degrees excluding Bachelor of Clinical Science (Medicine)/Doctor of Medicine and Bachelor of Nursing. Students applying for the Bachelor of Nursing are still eligible to receive the $3,000 contribution based on academic merit.
The scholarship is a tuition fee waiver and does not cover costs associated with living expenses, accommodation, transport, overseas student health cover or other costs associated with study.
Requirements for Western Sydney International Scholarships Qualification
Scholarships are granted on academic merit in a completed Year 12 qualification or equivalent recognised by Western Sydney University for admission.
Applicants must:

- be an international student and not an Australian citizen, New Zealand citizen or permanent resident of Australia. If your visa status changes to one of these during the study period, the scholarship will discontinue
- commence a new program of study in 2025 for the first time
- be applying to study in a CRICOS registered undergraduate degree program
- satisfy the academic eligibility requirements for either the $6,000 or $3,000 multi-year scholarship
- satisfy all other admission requirements and accept their Offer of Admission letter.

Interview date, Process and Venue for Western Sydney International Scholarships
No application is necessary. All new coursework applications for admission will be automatically considered for a scholarship. If you meet the scholarship eligibility criteria, your scholarship offer will be outlined in your Offer of Admission letter.
